The Afrilens warranty, in writing
Every Afrilens lens ships under a written warranty. Here is exactly what is covered, for how long, and how to claim. The same terms apply to every partner.
What’s covered
Manufacturing
Under normal use
Manufacturing defects and prescription accuracy, on all Afrilens lenses.
Coating
12 months
Peeling, cracking, crazing, or delamination from manufacturing defects, on Hard Coat (HC), Anti-Reflective (AR / HMC / SHMC), and mirror coatings.
Breakage
12 months from purchase
Breakage from normal everyday use. 1.60 index lenses only. One replacement per original purchase.
Progressive lens adaptation
30 days from dispensing
If a patient cannot adapt to their Afrilens progressive lenses, one replacement with an alternative lens design or single vision lenses. Progressive lenses only.
A note on scratch resistance
Afrilens lenses are manufactured with scratch-resistant coatings to improve durability. However, scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof, and scratches resulting from normal wear, accidental damage, or improper cleaning are not covered under warranty.
What the warranty does not cover
Scratches caused by misuse or improper cleaning.
Broken, chipped, or cracked lenses (except where covered under the 1.60 index breakage warranty).
Damage caused by heat, chemicals, or solvents.
Damage caused by frame stress or improper fitting.
Normal wear and tear.
Loss or theft.
Lenses that have been altered or modified by a third party.
How to claim
To process a warranty claim, please provide:
Original invoice or receipt.
Afrilens job number (where applicable).
The original lenses for inspection.
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by Afrilens. Approved claims will be remade or replaced with an equivalent Afrilens product in accordance with this warranty policy.
